I went back to college as a mature student to learn photography and managed to mix my passion of football with photography and avoided the ridiculous licencing crap you have to go through to photograph officially at a football match owned by the FA. I made my story about Footballs Backside, a look at how fans carry their passion for their clubs and this project took me halfway around the country to different clubs. I chose to document what I consider to be the unseen side of football in terms of official football photography, which tends to be more centred around the players and the game itself.
Anyway, I had one week left to gather more photographs for my project that was being graded by tutors for my final major project, to get my qualification. I decided to venture down to Wembley to see what kind of fans I could find between Man City and Wigan (the day Wigan snatched the cup from City) and found this crazy character!
